Overview
Your budget in AmpliFund shows the allocated (or budgeted) amounts by Budget Category and Line Item. You can also "Show" expenses entered and therefore amounts remaining on the same budget page.
NOTE: See your program's guidelines to see if it is allowable for expense amount totals to go over budgeted category and/or line item amounts.

To see your budget: Award Screen > Post-Award > Financial > Budget
NOTE: If your budget is blank, please contact your Program Rep.
Using the Budget
Link to 'Grant Budget Variance Report'
To go directly to the 'Grant Budget Variance Report', click the corresponding icon in the top right corner.
Actuals
The date range in the "Actual" section will default to the contract date range. You can manually update the date range fields by clicking into either field, and editing the date.
Options
Selecting the "Option" section will show/hide the corresponding columns.
Suggested column selections:
- Line Items
- Match
- Actuals (indicated by green columns)
- Remaining (budgeted minus actual columns)
NOTE: The "Actuals" columns are including expenses entered, not necessarily approved. This includes all expenses that have a status of: Closed, Reviewed, Payment Requested or Paid.
NOTE: The "Remaining" columns are calculated from the "Actuals" columns, which are expenses entered, not necessarily approved.
Hierarchy
Budgets are composed of Budget Categories and Line Items, with Budget Categories being the highest level.
- Budget Categories: Contain at least one line item.
- Examples from below: Contract Development, Employee Wages, Materials and Supplies
- Line Items: Provide additional detail underneath a Budget Category. Expenses will be tracked against Line Items.
- Examples from below: Contract A, Contract B, Metal, etc.
